Greetings in the Sweet Name of Jesus!

Thank you for visiting our web site!  It is our desire that you will be able to feel the “heart beat” of our church as you view the information we have posted.

Our church is located some eight miles out of Corinth, MS in a community that bears the same name as the church.  Our sanctuary seats approximately 1,800 people with accompanying space for Sunday School, recreation, dining, kindergarten, children’s church, youth and other ongoing ministries of the church.

Anyone who visits will realize that Wheeler Grove is not a typical community church, reaching far beyond its physical location.  Each week our services are graced by people who come from nearby communities and towns, as well as from Tennessee and Alabama.

Each March our church hosts the Bailey Smith Real Evangelism Conference which is attended by individuals and groups from across the nation.  This conference has proven to be a much needed “time of refreshing” for God’s people.  Each year the program is filled with some of the most gifted preachers, musicians and singers across America.  Someone said “it’s like getting a fresh drink from the old well!”

In 2012, we were privileged to conduct a crusade on San Pedro Island, Belize with a team of 25 church members in attendance.  We went there because our heart’s desire is to see people saved.  It has been costly and demanding, but when I consider that God gave His only begotten Son for the souls of men, it makes me even more thankful to pastor a church that refuses to draw in the lifeline.

I hope you’ll take the time to experience some of the services posted on this site.  By doing so, I think you’ll know why, after 32 years, I continue to be the “Happy Pastor” of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.

In Christ,
Bro. Kara Blackard

I feel very privileged and honored to be a part of the music ministry here at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.  After participating in church music ministry for the past 22 years, I’ve learned that great Christian music with a Godly message can play a very strong and vital role in preparing one’s heart for the pastor’s message.

Music has always been identified with worship.  From the earliest Biblical times to the present, the hearts and voices of men have been lifted to God in praise and thanksgiving.  Music characterizes Christianity.  Majestic, worshipful, and soul-stirring music expresses a masculine Christianity.  Wherever one finds dynamic, progressive churches today, there, too one is likely to find the effective program of church music ministering to and through all the people.

Our congregational singing is the very heart of the church music program and it’s a part of the service, in which each member can and should participate. It reflects the enthusiasm of the people for God, their church, and their program for carrying out the divine commission.  Congregational singing is the only part of a worship service, in which all may join heart and voice in praise, adoration, and personal testimony.

Our church choir’s primary mission is to sing music which has a real message for the hearts of all who hear—music of praise, adoration, devotion, consecration and prayer.  That means singing the gospel in all its beauty, power and truth.  Our church choir’s secondary mission is to lead the congregation in singing.  Both missions are for the honor and glory of God.

God has “poured out” His continuous rich blessings on this church family in so many ways, and the area of music is just one of His rich blessings.  We are blessed with a very talented group of instrumentalists, adult choir, teen choir, children’s choirs, many different singing groups and soloists.  Our music programs are meant to be an encouraging, uplifting and joyful part of every church service.  Psalms 40:3 says, “And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.”

Come and fellowship with our church family, as we sing unto the Lord a new song and lift up His Name on high.

 Singing His Praises,
Bro. Steve
